The upper level of a two-story single-family home has been used as a retreat and a writer's enclave.

The bedroom has bamboo flooring, a closet organizer, a ceiling fan, and windows offering West and North views.  The bathroom has tub, shower and HUGE window for mountain views.

 

While there is a washer and dryer room shared by both units, there is also the option to hang out your clothes.

A beautifully designed, functional kitchen has gas stove, loads of storage, gas range and newer fridge with side freezer. There are even views to enjoy while cooking.

 

The Santa Fe style custom paint adds unique ambiance.  Newer solar shades allows adjustment to light while Never, Ever losing those magnificent views.

 

There is a wood-burning stove to knock off the chill in the mornings, however, the passive solar windows make it unnecessary during the day.  There is also radiant floor heat, on-demand water heater.

 

All the lighting is from the Minka line of fixtures, ceiling fans throughout, and exceptional landscaping with pond, defined walkways in the indigenous wildflower meadows.  The landscaping is fenced with both bamboo fencing for privacy as well as wired fencing for wildlife viewing.

The lower level is the "in-law unit".  It has a completely separate entrance from the upstairs quarters.  There is soundproofing between the two stories which helps enormously if you have family or guests visiting.

While it is legally a 2 bedroom unit because it has closets in both bedrooms (BTW, with closet organizers!), the bedroom off the kitchen/dining area is furnished as a sitting/office/meditation room.  There is substantial storage throughout the quarters.

 

While there is a washer and dryer there is also the option to hang out your clothes and in the winter there is a clothes rack in the W/D room to hang items best not put in the dryer.
